My First Card Entry for Digis

Not sure WHAT I was thinking, but I've joined a Progressive Challenge at Crafters Digital Art.  This being my FIRST ever colored digi print, I am not too disappointed.  But, MAYBE I should have practiced a little more!!!  And, I used pastel pencils.  I wish I had some good markers ... hint, hint, Santa!!

This image is from Digistamps4joy / tag = ds4j

Well, I will say that I am proud of my self for "going for it" and trying it out.  There will be one every two weeks now!!! My goal is to learn A LOT over these next couple of entries!!!

Pulley Card

WOW!!!  Have you ever spent WAAYYY too much time on ONE card!! Well, this one took me all day!  At least it seemed that way ;-)
I followed Michelle's directions on her blog, Michelle's Rubber Room.   Her video is Awesome!! The card itself did not actually take that much time.  Kind of fun.  I cheated a little, in that I attached the inside tags before embellishing them. That way I knew I wouldn't go too far over with the sentiments and I wouldn't have to worry about which direction they were supposed to be adhered.
The most time spent, actually, was trying to line up the computer generated sentiments with the Cricut. In "theory", it's supposed to be simple.  Welllll, I guess I didn't do it the "simple" way, because it took me SEVERAL tries.  None the less, I didn't give up and persevered!!!!
Now that I have this down, I KNOW I won't try to computer generate sentiments in such a TIGHT space!!  All in all, a FUN card to make!!! It does take a custom envelope.  I will share in another post how I did that.

Flip Card

This is a Flip Card that I made for a young man in England that loves Winnie the Pooh!  I found a video tutorial here to teach me this technique.  I LOVE it!

Pooh and bridge is from Pooh and Friends. Celebrate is from Gypsy Wanderings.  Inside sentiment is computer generated.

I am SOOOO excited!! I have been dreaming about hosting a SWARM all Summer and I finally checked out the available dates at my office and weekends are open!!  So, I am shooting for October 8th and 9th.  Yes, it's only six weeks away, but I can't wait!!!  hehehee

If you are unaware of what a SWARM is... it's a collection of "bugs", aka Cricuts!!! Non bugs are welcome too!  It will be a weekend full of camaraderie, food and PAPER!!

The cost will be $15 each day (Saturday and Sunday) and will be held in Woodstock, Georgia, off I-575 and Hwy 92.

Mr. Cricut Crazy has agreed to donate an item to "raffle off" at the event!!!  How INCREDIBLY Sweet!!!  But, SSSHHHH ... it's a surprise!!!   ;-)

Positive Affirmation

So, my Life Coach Debra Blanken and I have been working together to stop me from criticizing my self all the time.  I did not realize how many times a day that occurred!!  Louise Hay is one of my favorite authors.  She wrote You Can Heal Your Life.  This is a BEAUTIFUL book; both in written word and illustration.  I HIGHLY recommend it!

We got this affirmation from the book. I used vinyl on this hand painted and inked canvas.  The only thing I changed after taking this picture is the yellow bling in the flower.  I changed it to brown and liked it even more!

I used my Gypsy to design the words. Can't wait to make another!

Two Quick Cards

So, I did not plan very well, and did not have much time to put these together.  So, for the short amount of time, I guess they are ok.  But, I'm not pleased with the choices I made with the paper .... will have to try the design again with different paper!!

This is the one I did for Becca for her first day of College:

(my apologies for the poor photograph ... my finger and the shadow!  oops!)

This is the card for Sara:

Both of these cards were made from the Wild Card cartridge.  The cool thing is that I was able to use "You are my" from the Sunshine card for the Pie card by using my Gypsy.  But, I am sure you could cut it without the Gypsy as well.

(Love using my Gypsy at night while I am watching TV with hubby and designing what I want to cut for the next day!!)

First Blog Hop with My Pink Stamper

Just finished my first Blog Hop!!! Such fun, such talented ladies, such lovely creations!! And, I even posted my butterfly card on My Pink Stamper blog!!!  squeallll!!

Robyn asked us to post our "style" ... using our favorite color combination, favorite technique or favorite cartridge, etc.  I chose my butterfly card because the Easel Card is one of my favorite cards to make right now.  Plus, I LOVE the flowers and butterflies on the Tinker Bell and Friends cartridge.

My Pink Stamper is one of my favorites!  I want to be just like her! ;-)  I think about how busy she is with her family and church and wonder HOW she does such great crafts!!  I should be able to do that!! I only have two kids, and they are grown!!!  My dream is to make money doing what I LOVE....paper crafting!!

So, more blogging for me and MORE creating too!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday Card

This is one of my favorite cards to date.  It's an easel card with a computer generated sentiment.  The butterfly is from the Tinker Bell Cartridge (yep!!) and I used the Happy Birthday embossing folder for the background.

My first PAID project

I actually had a friend ask me to make invitations, thank yous and a banner for her daughter's first birthday!  I was very excited and learned a lot; timing, designing, pricing, etc. We started with a Sesame Street theme (Elmo on the invitation.) Then, we used Abbie for the banner.  She is VERY intricate and only cuts well at large sizes.  I tried to use her for the thank you card, but was only able to cut one.  So, we went with a cupcake for the thank you card.

Hello Kitty

The Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge from Provocraft is one of my favorites.  Here are a couple of cards I've made this past year, using the cartridge.
