My husband is a big gamer, so I thought this cut would be a cute card for Father's Day.  I put it together using my Gypsy and the Father's Day cart .... I had to cut the controls a couple of times to get the multiple colors, plus use the hide feature to get the back of the card.  The inside read: "In my Game, you are always a Winner!"  ... kind of corny I know, and not very poetic, but he got the gist!!!

Using Cindy Loo

For a small challenge, we were to use a cut from Paper Lace, which I don't have.  So, I found this cut on Cindy Loo ... thought it was similar.  Turned it into a Birthday Card.  Looks so much better in person.  My photography skills leave a lot to be desired!!!

My nephew was in the hospital recently and I wanted to make him a card,  I cut Sponge Bob at 6" so he was too big for a card.  Hence, made a "poster" ...

Lots of small pieces for Sponge Bob.  The stripes on his socks were too small to glue, so I used markers.

Happy Easter

We had a lovely Easter dinner at my sister's.  I put this basket together to hold the cute carrots that I cut using a digital file from Cricut Craft Room.  After I purchased the file on line, I then updated my Gypsy  using Cricut Sync and the file was then ready to use!  Plus, the Cricut Craft Room basic shapes were there too!!  (Yay for free shapes and fonts!)

I cut the Happy Easter out of vinyl.  I believe I used MS Elegant Cakes for the font. The tulle was white and I dyed it using Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink and some water on my craft mat.  VERY easy and dries quickly (when you blot out the water with a paper towel), just remember to use gloves!! Very messy, but the ink did wash out of my hands after two or three washes!

I used green raffia on the carrots and an embossing folder for the smaller ones.  Also, I used Scotch white glue to seal.  I just started using this glue after Carolyn of  Carolyn's Crafty Corner shared how wonderful it is for paper.

These carrots were so fun to put together and EVERYONE enjoyed the jelly beans and Reese's peanut butter eggs that were inside!

Easy Wall Decor

So, while browsing Pinterest, I came across some wall hangings that were simply fabric or paper on canvases.  I am trying to complete my Craft Room and decided to use some pretty paper to decorate the walls.  Found most of these at Archiver's.  I used 12 x 12 canvases, paper, ribbon, modge podge, hot glue and Metallic paint.  A good friend of mine suggested putting the metallic paint under the paper and then they would be magnetic!!!  It took three coats of the paint, but I LOVE how they turned out.  The picture doesn't do it justice...I'm just not the best photographer!  Anyway, I think you'll get the idea.

This is what the paint looks like.  Again, I used three thin coats.  Use this in a well ventilated area.  Also, it says to use a special brush, but I simply used a foam throw away brush.

Here is the finished product.  After painting the canvases with 3 coats, I let that dry and then covered them with modge podge and placed the paper on top, squeegeeing (love that word) out the bubbles.  I then applied another coat of modge podge on top.  It would be fun to tint the modge podge with some alcohol ink for different affects. I then used hot glue to apply a ribbon around the edge.  The black dots on the boards are fabric flowers that I adhered to magnets.

Woodstock SWARM III

Last weekend was a BLAST!!!  I have SUCH a great group of gals. LOTS of FUN!!

Here are a couple of pics:

This is what the room set up looked like. We had 25 very talented ladies attend.

This is one of the posters I created to add some fun.  Our theme was "Lucky Girls", using lady bugs, shamrocks, and all things lucky! It was St Patrick's Day after all!

Here are the goodies we made up for each lady.  My good friend at Fancy Nancy's Cookies did the yummy cookies. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More to make the purse.  They were filled with stamps and a punch.  I used 18" paper to make the size bigger.  The font on the purse is from Quarter Note ... LOVE that font!

40th Birthday Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my crafty friends!!!  I had a very nice Holiday ... except for the two days I spent in bed ill.  Hope you and your family had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!!  Craft gift wise, I got a new Cropodile with the Michael's gift card I received from my brother, and I got a Hobby Lobby gift card from my dad that I am going to use for a new rolling tote.  Hope you received lots of fun crafting supplies!!

Over the Holiday, I made twelve of the note card portfolios for a client and made money!!  Yippeee!!! Thank you Caroline / MamaC for sharing your note card portfolio with me!!!

So, today, I got a call for a custom birthday card.  She gave me colors of brown and pink.  I was very excited, as I had picked up an adorable My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 pack with those colors at AC Moore in Greenville this past November. (LOVE that store!! Wish we had one in Atlanta!)  Anyway, I thought this would not take too long, as I was going to keep it simple and use a swing card format.

Well, since my beloved Gypsy is away for repair, I thought I would try Cricut Craft Room to weld the word "Fabulous" ... several hours later, NO luck!!!  Had to cut it the old fashion way (ick!) and put on each individual letter.  When Provocraft gets all the bugs out of Cricut Craft Room, it'll be awesome!

The card base is 5 x 7, scored at 2 3/4 and 4 1/4.  Then, you cut a "[  ]"  1inch down from the top and 1 1/2 inches from each side, cutting to the score mark.  (Michelle at rubberroom.com has directions.)

I used Cricut (not Martha's) Elegant Cakes for the letter cuts.  And Martha's Elegant Cakes for the 40.  (Confusing, I KNOW!) Especially since I'm NOT using my G!!

Papers are from My Minds Eye Lost and Found, and some glitter paper I had in my stash.  The glitter paper cut VERY well ... using 6 blade, 3 speed and 4 pressure, cut 2 times.  Had to break out a new mat though.  (aahhhhh ... new matttt...  :-)

MamaC also showed us how to make stick pins easily by using 2" corsage pins from Walmart.  I had several of these made up, as it is quite soothing to just bead.

My apologies for the poor photography.  Obviously photography is NOT on of my talents!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  ... I look forward to crafting and blogging more in 2012!!

Christmas Gifts

A good Crafting friend of mine, Carolyn (MamaC) gave me an adorable package earlier this month. I began duplicating it and giving it as gifts. They are SOOO fun to make and make such lovely gifts.

Here are a couple of my creations.

Click on MamaC's name above for basic directions!

I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut the decorative edges.  I used Walk in My Garden for the flowers.

Another Gift Card Holder

This card is 8.5" by 8", folded in half.  I used Martha Stewart's snow flake punch to punch around edge and three different snowflakes from Cricut cartridges ... I THINK I used Tie the Knot, Gypsy Wanderings, and Accent Essentials for the snowflakes.  Happy Holidays is from Beyond Birthdays.  TFL!!

Holiday Cards

I'm working on putting together some special cards to use for my business gift certificates. This one was a lot of fun to make ...

It's for a girlfriend that bought herself a massage.  Hence the inside sentiment.

First, it is a twisted easel (not sure if that is the "proper" name).  Second, the cuts are from A Child's Year, Christmas Solution and French Manor. The Christmas tree I cut twice in two colors and cut it apart and put it back together using the two different colors.

Inside sentiment is computer generated.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Birthday Card

So, a client of mine (I'm a massage therapist) bought a gift certificate for his wife.  I like to create hand made gift certificates, so I asked what were her likes.  He said she always wanted a baby tiger.  Well, the only baby tiger image I had on my Cricut cartridges was baby Tigger.  But, isn't he cute!!

I first made him using the Tigger colors, but I think he looks more like  a tiger using "real tiger" colors.  Either way, she loved it.  And, I love cutting Pooh images.  This Tigger is from the Pooh Font cartridge.  It has such cute "baby" pooh cuts!!  Funny story ... I had the stripes and base color for Tigger reversed and he looked odd to me, but I couldn't determine why.  My dd looked at it and at once replied, "you have the stripes in the wrong color!"  DUH!!!  So, I actually cut Tigger THREE times ....

The baby Tigger has a duck in front of him.  I used my Gypsy to hide the duck and pond cuts.  The other funny thing is, when I went to cut the layers, I did not realize that the "water" layer was actually water.  I kept trying to put the water on Tigger!!!  That's one of the problems with the Gypsy, you need a bigger magnifier sometimes.  But, I finally hunted for the cut on line and realized my error.  Made a huge difference ...hahaha!!!  (Maybe I just need to break down and get some glasses!)

The corners are cut using a Fiskers corner punch. The actual gift card holder was cut from Cindy Loo. I sometimes forget this cartridge has this useful cut!  I used my Gypsy to hide the inside cut marks and simply used glue dots to place my certificate on the inside.

The cupcake is from Once Upon a Princess, cut at 2.32".

I cut Make a Wish using Gypsy Font, cut at 1". I used the shadow cut as well.  (LOVE it when a font has a shadow!!)

Wish I had used some wider ribbon, but this was all that I could find in my stash.  (Guess my stash needs to grow!!!)

THANKS for LOOKING and come visit again soon!!

Welcome Baby

This shutter card was so fun to make!  It is for a baby that lives in Hilton Head, hence the crab and sand castle.  Of course, E and H are his initials.

I HAVE to get better at recording which cartridges I use!!  TFL

My MAGICAL CRAFT ROOM!!!

I don't want to leave!!!!  I love it!!! Did not think I would like being closed up in a room, as I had been spread out downstairs in the den area.  But, I love being "confined" ... and, my sweet hubby put in a stereo for me with some great music!!!

I still need to hang a shelf, decorate and hang a cork board, organized my ribbon, and organize my paper.

But, my room is all set for creating!!

Sweet hubby painting my room.

Here's some of my stuff as I'm moving it in ...

The picture above is looking at my wall from the corner.  Yes, it's a small room, but I can reach everything easier!!!  Still need to organize all that ribbon!!

This picture is taken from the doorway.  I like having my table right at the window.  I am going to have to plant a pretty rose bush though.  Still need a window treatment, but that doesn't stop me from creating!!

Here's my first card that I made.

I cut the card base at 5" from wild Cards and the image is from Cindy Loo.  I recut the same image, hiding all but the bird with my gypsy.  Then trimmed it up and embossed twice.

"HELLO" little purple Cricut guy that I received at my Swarm!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
